About Dr Chris Newton

I am a military historian and defence analyst. I hold a PhD in War Studies from King's College London, and I have taught at King's College London and St. Mary's University Twickenham. I am also a former defence policy adviser to the Conservative Party.

My research concerns the development of strategy and warfare, especially during the industrial and digital ages. Among other projects, I am currently writing a book on 20th century warfare. I have also written for outlets such as the Telegraph, Conservative Home, and The Critic, and have appeared on GB News and TalkTV. I have provided TV commentary on key international events and conflicts such as the Fall of Kabul, the Russo-Ukrainian War, and the Israel-Hamas War.
